The legendary Les Paul would of turned 100 years old today. He was an extraordinary man who contributed so much to the Electric Guitar. He played a huge part in using early, innovative Recording techniques as well. Most people hear his name and instantly think of the iconic Gibson Guitar named after him. His early development of “The Log” helped pave the way for the historic Les Paul Guitar we know today.
He was also an amazing Guitar player. His Jazz, Country and Blues playing style were thought to be way ahead of his time. Check out the video below of him just absolutely shredding the Guitar solo of this TV spot from the 50’s. His use of sweep picking, hammer-on and pull-off techniques are incredible!
